Last updated: October 13, 2026

At Design Vault, we value your privacy and believe you should understand how your personal information is collected, used, and protected. This Privacy Policy explains our practices when you visit our website, purchase digital products, download free resources, subscribe to our emails, book consultations, or otherwise interact with Design Vault.

By using our website, you acknowledge that you have been provided with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through thedesignvault.co and our related online services, including our website and Journal, digital guides and downloadable resources, free educational materials, The Vault Letter and other email communications, virtual design consultations, contact forms, customer support, and direct interactions with our business through email and social media.

This policy does not govern websites, platforms, or services operated independently by third parties. When you follow a link to another website, including a retailer, manufacturer, or social media platform, that company's privacy practices apply. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party websites before providing personal information.

2. Personal Information We Collect

Personal information is information that identifies you or could reasonably be associated with you. Depending on how you interact with Design Vault, we may collect the following information.

Information you provide directly. When you subscribe, make a purchase, complete a form, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, contact information, purchase history, transaction details, consultation booking information, project details, questions, email preferences, and other information you voluntarily share. We collect this information to provide the resources, products, and services you request.

Digital purchases. When you purchase a digital guide, we collect information necessary to process and fulfill your order. This may include your name, email address, purchased products, order amount, payment status, and transaction identifiers. Payments are processed through Base44 Payments, powered by Wix. Your complete payment card information is handled by the payment provider and is not directly collected or stored by Design Vault.

Free resources and newsletter subscriptions. When you request a free resource, such as Pinterest to Plan, we collect your email address to deliver the requested material. If you separately subscribe to The Vault Letter, or otherwise provide appropriate consent to receive marketing communications, we may also use your email address to send design education, new resources, product announcements, and occasional updates. We maintain subscription preferences and records of consent where applicable.

Virtual consultations. When you schedule a consultation, we may collect your name, email address, appointment details, and information you choose to provide about your home or project. Information shared during consultations is used to provide the requested service. Consultations do not ordinarily include recorded sessions or written follow-up documentation.

Communications and social media. When you contact us through email, website forms, or social media, we may receive your name, contact details, messages, and any information you voluntarily provide. Interactions on public social media platforms, including comments and public posts, may be visible to others and are subject to the privacy practices of those platforms. We encourage you not to share sensitive personal information through public comments or messages.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our hosting platform and service providers. This may include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages requested, date and time of visits, referral information, and technical information needed to maintain website security and functionality. The information collected depends on the technologies and services operating on our website.

3. How We Use Your Information

We collect and use personal information for legitimate business purposes, including processing payments and fulfilling purchases, delivering digital guides and free resources, scheduling and providing consultations, responding to questions and customer support requests, sending newsletters and marketing communications when permitted, maintaining purchase records and email preferences, improving our website and services, monitoring technical performance, preventing fraudulent activity, protecting our website from unauthorized access, and complying with applicable legal obligations.

Where required by law, we rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing personal information, such as your consent, fulfilling a contract, complying with legal obligations, or pursuing legitimate business interests. We do not collect personal information for the purpose of selling it to third parties.

4. Cookies and Website Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help websites operate and remember certain information. Our website and the platforms supporting it may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality, including maintaining website operations, supporting shopping cart and checkout processes, remembering necessary session information, protecting against unauthorized activity, and maintaining website security and performance.

Some third-party resources, including Google Fonts, may also receive technical information when your browser loads those resources. Design Vault does not currently use third-party advertising tracking pixels or behavioral advertising services. If we introduce additional analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies, we will update this policy and implement any required notice or consent mechanisms.

Most web browsers allow you to view, restrict, or delete cookies through browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality, including checkout or other interactive features.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate our website, process payments, deliver emails, and support our business. These providers may process personal information on our behalf to perform their services.

Base44. Our website is built and hosted using Base44, which supports website functionality, digital product records, customer information, and administrative operations.

Base44 Payments, powered by Wix. We use Base44 Payments, powered by Wix, to securely process purchases. Payment information is submitted through the payment provider's checkout system. Design Vault receives the transaction details necessary to confirm payment and fulfill orders.

Resend. We use Resend to deliver digital products, free resources, and email communications. Resend processes information necessary for email delivery and may provide delivery information such as successful sends, opens, clicks, bounces, complaints, and unsubscribe activity. This information helps us maintain reliable email communications and manage subscriber preferences.

Scheduling services. We may use third-party scheduling software to manage virtual consultation appointments. When you schedule an appointment, the provider may process your name, email address, and booking information.

Google services. We use Google Workspace for business email communications and may use Google Fonts to display typography on our website. These services may process information necessary to provide their functionality.

We select service providers based on their suitability for our business needs and expect them to maintain appropriate privacy and security practices. Their handling of information is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

6. When We Share Personal Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate our website, process payments, deliver emails, and provide requested services. We may also disclose information when required to comply with applicable laws, court orders, subpoenas, or lawful government requests, or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, prevent misuse of our services, protect our rights, or address security concerns.

If Design Vault undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of business assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements. We do not authorize service providers to use information we provide to them for unrelated purposes, except as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

7. Email Communications and Your Choices

We send transactional and marketing emails for different purposes. Transactional communications are necessary to fulfill requests and provide services and may include digital product delivery, free resource delivery, purchase confirmations, consultation scheduling information, and important service communications.

Marketing communications may include The Vault Letter, design advice, educational content, new resources, and product announcements. These emails are sent when you subscribe or otherwise provide appropriate consent.

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe option. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in an email or by contacting whitley@thedesignvault.co. Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent transactional messages necessary to complete your purchases or requests. We may retain limited information about unsubscribe preferences to ensure that your choice is respected.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and our legal or business obligations.

Purchase records may be retained for accounting, tax, and transaction documentation. Email subscription information may be maintained while you remain subscribed, and unsubscribe records may be retained to prevent unwanted marketing communications. Customer support communications may be retained when necessary to resolve questions or document transactions. Certain information may also be retained to comply with legal requirements or address disputes.

When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to the capabilities of our service providers.

9. Your Privacy Rights

We respect your ability to make decisions about your personal information. Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have the right to request access to personal information we maintain about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of eligible information, withdraw consent to certain processing activities, opt out of marketing communications, request a portable copy of certain information, object to or restrict certain uses of your information, or appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.

These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. For example, we may need to retain certain transaction records for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or other legal purposes.

To submit a privacy request, contact whitley@thedesignvault.co. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests and will respond in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

10. Information Storage and International Processing

Design Vault operates from the United States. Our website and service providers use cloud-based systems to store and process information. Depending on the provider, personal information may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries where service providers maintain operations or infrastructure.

Privacy and data protection laws may differ between jurisdictions. Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to ensure that international processing or transfers comply with relevant legal requirements.

11. Protecting Your Information

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. These measures include using established service providers for website hosting, payment processing, and email delivery. Payment card information is processed through our payment provider rather than being directly stored by Design Vault.

Although we make reasonable efforts to protect information, no online system or method of electronic transmission is completely secure. In the event of a data security incident, we will investigate and provide notifications as required by applicable law.

12. Third-Party Websites and Social Media

Our website, Journal, and educational resources may include links to outside websites, including manufacturers, retailers, product suppliers, and social media platforms. These websites operate independently from Design Vault, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices, data collection, or security procedures.

When you leave our website, we encourage you to review the privacy policy of the destination website.

13. Children's Privacy

Design Vault's website, products, and services are intended for adults. Our services are not directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Purchases and paid consultations are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old or otherwise legally authorized to enter into the transaction.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to our website, products, service providers, business practices, or legal obligations. When updates are made, the revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.

If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required by applicable law. We encourage you to review this policy occasionally.
